  • Case Manager- PRN (Franklin, LA)

    Patient management and satisfaction, to promote continuity of care and cost effectiveness through the integration of the functions of case management, utilization review and discharge planning.


    ACCOUNTABILITIES AND RESPONSIBILITES

    • Participates in the integration of the social service and case management functions into patient care.
    • Conducts concurrent medical record review using specific indicators and criteria as approved by the medical staff, Joint Commission and CMS.
    • Promotes effective and efficient utilization of clinical resources.
    • Conducts review for appropriate utilization of services from admission through discharge.
    • Communicates with physicians at regular intervals throughout hospitalization and develops an effective working relationship.
    • Introduces self to patient and family and explains clinical case manager role and process for patient and family to contact clinical case manager.
    • Collaborate with clinical staff in the development and execution of the plan of care and achievement of goals.
    • Participates in the development and implementation of patient care policies and protocols in order to provide advice and guidance in handling patient needs.

  • Certified Surgical Technician Fulltime - Surgery (Franklin, LA) *$20,000 sign on bonus*

    • Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) is a clinically competent individual who possesses expertise in the theory and application of sterile and aseptic technique and combines the knowledge of human anatomy, surgical procedures and implementation tools and technologies to facilitate a physician's performance of invasive therapeutic and diagnostic procedures.
    • This role includes but is not limited to the passing of instruments, suture and supplies, and accountability for surgical counts. This position is Full-Time and requires night and weekend call.

  • ED Paramedic, PRN days (Franklin, LA)

    RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES:

    • Provides direct patient care, within the scope of their license, with supervision from the physician.
    • This may include the following: medical treatment of wounds at the basic/intermediate/advanced level, would care, ability to administer medications by pre-established protocol which includes vasoactive medications, draw bloodwork, place splints/boots/etc., Foley insertion, use of glucometer, Nova Stat, Kurin, vital signs (rectal temps/immunocompromised), and IV fluid administration.
    • The ED Paramedic may administer preset protocols and standing orders, as ordered by a physician.
    • Performs clinical job duties as defined in skills checkoff and monitored on an annual basis thereafter through annual competency assessment.
    • Supports physicians, nursing, and hospital administration by acceptance of established objectives, policies, and procedures.
    • Demonstrates understanding of and compliance with EMTALA regulations.
    • Accurately documents patient related tasks.

  • EKG Technician, Full-Time (Franklin, LA)

    PRIMARY FUNCTION:

    • The EKG technician is responsible for the performance of EKG’s as ordered by physician.  
    •  Proper documentation and record keeping of the above procedures are also the responsibility of the technician. 
    • Additional responsibilities include faxing results to physicians, cleaning of equipment, and charging of procedures 

    ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIP:

    The EKG Technician reports to the Respiratory Therapy Department Manager.

  • EVS Technician, PRN (Franklin, LA)

    An Environmental Services Technician performs a variety of general cleaning tasks to maintain patient rooms, hallways, offices, waiting rooms, supply and equipment rooms and other assigned areas of the hospital.

     

    RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES: 

    • A PRN EVS tech may work days, evenings, weekends and holidays. 
    • The position requires working in offsite clinics at times.
    • Must know which cleaning materials and equipment to use for each specific cleaning task, as well as submitting reports to the Environmental Services Supervisor on a regular and timely basis.
    • Fill-in for the laundry workers when they are off.

  • Hand Therapist - Part-time - Occupational Therapy (Franklin, LA)

    Using specialized skills in assessment, planning and treatment, Hand Therapists provide therapeutic interventions to prevent dysfunction, restore function and/or reverse the progression of pathology of the upper limb in order to enhance an individual's ability to execute tasks and to participate fully in life situations.


    RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES:

    • Develops treatment plans and carries out treatment for patients. Monitors and documents progress as appropriate.
    • Prepares written documentation as required by the profession and the department, such as evaluation results, individualized treatment plans, progress reports, and other such reports.
    • Prepares work schedule, assigns OT staff as applicable, evaluates peer work performance as requested by manager and makes recommendations for personnel actions relating to OT staff as requested.

  • Infection Control Preventionist RN (Franklin, LA)

    The Infection Control Preventionist is responsible for implementation, coordination, and monitoring of all infection control activities, with particular emphasis on:

    • Tracking, reporting and prevention of healthcare acquired infections.
    • Education and orientation related to infection control.
    • Maintenance of records related to the infection control program.
    • Work with Medical Staff Members of the Infection Control Committee; organize the information for presentation at the IC Meeting according to Medical Staff By-Laws.

    RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES:

    • Demonstrate the knowledge and ability to apply Infection Control practices and principles
    • Consult and work collaboratively with physicians, nursing staff members, peers, and other members of the health care team
    • Assess the working environment for infection control issues
    • Develop and update policies, procedures and forms for the Infection Control program
    • Conduct ongoing surveillance of infection in patients and personnel by reviewing all cultures, determining if antibiotic therapy is adequate
    • Investigate for development of any trends, cluster of infections, unusual pathogens, or infections and promptly reports these to the medical staff members of the Infection Control Committee
    • Report communicable diseases diagnosed to the Public Health department or State Office of Public Health
    • Provide hospital staff with current isolation guidelines and assure appropriate set-up by staff
    • Oversee the facility’s hand hygiene program
    • Conduct Infection Control/Safety compliance rounds as scheduled and as needed
    • Monitor for health-care acquired infections and educate staff prevention/reduction
    • Actively participate in departmental and hospital performance improvement program

  • Marketing and Community Relations Coordinator (Franklin, LA)

    The Marketing and Community Relations Coordinator is responsible for communicating hospital vision and organizational culture to both internal and external audiences that will ultimately lead to increased market share and utilization while providing a high degree of patient satisfaction. The coordinator will contribute to the strategic planning process.


    The Marketing/Community Relations Coordinator reports directly to the Chief Operations Officer (COO). They work closely with the senior management team, department managers, community leaders, media, and others to fulfill the goals of the department and the hospital.


    RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES:

    • Develops comprehensive marketing plan annually, listing goals and strategies to increase awareness and utilization of the hospital.
    • Works in conjunction with the Senior Management Team in developing strategies and devising responses to hospital-wide issues.
    • Prepares, administers, and maintains an operating budget based on approved departmental goals and objectives in keeping with the hospital’s overall operating budget.
    • Represents the institution as necessary at various community events and participates in public speaking engagements and opportunities as they arise, coordinates strategic spokesperson placement as often as possible.
    • Acts as primary liaison with advertising agencies oversees institutional advertising campaigns related to marketing of hospital programs and services as well as maintaining the hospital website. 
    • Acts as primary liaison with members of the news media, establishes and enforces policies regulating the presence of media personnel in the hospital.
    • Effectively organizes and plans all hospital banquets, employee gatherings, and events  for physicians.
    • Assists in physician recruitment, organizing materials, meetings, and community tours.
    • Prepares press releases and solicits feature stories to present information regarding hospital programs, services, new equipment or facilities and other human-interest topics to favorably promote the institution’s image.
    • Effectively responds to all contacts and requests for information with the press concerning hospital matters.
    • Implements and coordinates special events such as health fairs, community special event sponsorships, etc. 

    EDUCATION/QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Public Relations, or related field is preferred.
    • Salary commensurate w/related experience.
    • Must have excellent public speaking skills, a working knowledge of computer graphics programs and the ability to organize public events on behalf of the hospital.
    • Must be highly motivated, organized and can work on many projects simultaneously. Strong verbal and written communications skills are required.

  • Medical Technologist/Technician Fulltime Nights (Franklin, LA) *This is a night position 7 on and 7 off 6pm-6:30am/Sign on bonus up to $35,000*

    The Medical Technologist or Medical Laboratory Technician position is responsible for Phlebotomy, processing specimen samples in Blood Bank, Hematology, Chemistry, Coagulation, Urinalysis and Serology, analyzing various laboratory tests, reporting results, maintaining analyzers in various departments, quality control, and proper logging and documentation. The successful incumbent must have an Associate Degree in Medical Laboratory Technology with at least 4 years’ experience (preferably night shift) or a Bachelor degree in Medical Technology with at least 2 years Lab experience.

  • PHLEBOTOMIST, PRN (Franklin, LA)

    The primary function of the Phlebotomist is to draw blood on out-patients in-patients and ED patients adhering to National Patient Safety Goals which include proper patient identification, hand washing guidelines, using the correct supplies and techniques to obtain specimens and sorting specimens when they are received into the laboratory.


    Other responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

    • Collecting and receiving specimens into the LIS system
    • Keeping draw room and trays clean and stocked
    • Answering telephone, faxing results, and assisting lab secretary and technical staff when required.

    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

    • Requires a minimum of 2 years experience as a Phlebotomist preferably in a Hospital Laboratory. Requires updated knowledge of computer systems with a preference for experience with CPSI hospital software systems.     
    • Experience – 1 to 3 years previous phlebotomy experience in a
    •  hospital laboratory required.
    • Certification – Certification as a phlebotomist, or medical assistant preferred.
    • Mathematical Skills – Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers
    •  and to multiply and divide with 10’s and 100’s.  Ability to perform
    •  these operations using units of American money and weight
    •  measurement, volume and distance.
    •  Reasoning – Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry
    • out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.  Ability to
    • deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized
    • situations.
    • Reading – Ability to read instructions, labels and directions.

    • Prepares patient for and assists with examinations.

    PRIMARY FUNCTION:

    • The primary function of the Registered Nurse/Scrub is to assess, coordinate and evaluate the patient's response to the total nursing care plan and participate in patient and family teaching.     • The Sterile Processing/Instrument Tech at Franklin Foundation Hospital also works in sterile supply where he/she under close supervision, prepares, tracks and sterilizes equipment and instruments in an accurate and timely manner. Prepares operating room sterile trays and assist operating room staff in pulling supplies per physician preference card as warranted by census.
    • Participates in maintaining a safe and clean environment.
    • Assist in performing and documenting environmental checks as required by administrative and OR policies and regulatory agencies.
    • Follows appropriate infection control policies and procedures.
    • Assist with maintaining cleanliness of the work environment.
    • Demonstrates knowledge of the use and care of equipment.
    • Displays appropriate skill in the use and maintenance of assigned equipment.
    • Follows through with appropriate disposition of equipment used.
    • Demonstrates knowledge of supplies available to the unit.
    • Displays knowledge of decontamination, packaging and sterilization of instrumentation and supplies.
    • Assist in cleaning the operating room for the next procedure including appropriate disposal of contaminated linen and waste, cleaning instruments when necessary and disinfecting equipment
    • Collects dirty equipment and instruments.
    • Sort, load, unload and decontaminates equipment and instruments according to manufacturer’s instructions for use.  Maintains instructions for use manual in accordance with AAMI guidelines.
    • Cleans, repackages, and sterilizes instruments according to manufacturer’s instructions for use.
    • Assembles trays, basin sets, packages, instruments and equipment and prepares items for sterilization.
    • Decontaminates, restocks and assembles surgical trays.
    • Performs quality control through the routine testing and cleaning to assure sterilization equipment and instruments are functioning properly.
    • Inspects equipment, instruments, and packaging for cleanliness, defects and/or malfunctions.

    JOB SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:

    • Certification preferred or within one year of hire
    • At least one year of instrumentation sterilization experience in a hospital setting
