In 1953, a tradition of healthcare excellence was born in St. Mary Parish with the establishment of Bayou Bend Health System. In its many years of service, Bayou Bend Health System has obtained its goal – to provide a broad spectrum of quality medical services right here in St. Mary Parish.
The active medical staff at Bayou Bend Health System is comprised of a variety of physicians, 2 of which serve the hospital and the communities of Franklin and Baldwin in the two medical clinics owned by Bayou Bend Health System.
The Baldwin Family Care Center, located at 100 Live Oak in Baldwin, houses Stacie Migues, NP. Office hours are Monday through Thursday, 8:30 am to 4:30 pm and Friday 8:30 am to 12:00 pm.
The emergency room at Bayou Bend Health System is open twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week. A skilled emergency medicine physician heads our team of nurses and technicians to provide emergency treatment from cuts and bruises to significant trauma.
For critical patients, Bayou Bend Health System has a 4-bed centrally monitored Intensive Care Unit (ICU). The unit is staffed by skilled nurses who continuously monitor the condition of each patient.
The surgery department performs inpatient and outpatient surgical services daily. The scope of services includes general open and laparoscopic surgery, orthopedic surgery, cataract surgery, and endoscopic exams.
Maternity and newborn nursery services are offered at Bayou Bend Health System with modern labor and delivery facilities and specialty nurses always available. The nursing staff offers childbirth classes periodically through the year at the hospital.
In addition to the aforementioned services, Bayou Bend Health System also has departments in respiratory, radiology, laboratory, nutrition, pain management, as well as rehabilitation and speech therapies. As a convenience to the community, the Bayou Bend Health System laboratory is open to the public for outpatient diagnostic testing from 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
