It is the Occupational Therapists’ goal to improve function in individuals who have experienced a disability, illness, injury, or surgery. Occupational Therapy strives to improve functional performance in the area(s) of daily living, bathing, dressing, grooming, feeding, and meal preparation. The Occupational Therapist can make recommendations for adaptive equipment, positioning devices, and splinting to maximize the patient’s independence. The Occupational Therapist (OT) also assesses job-related tasks for injury prevention and improved ergonomics.
